The food was good, and the service was very hospitable and kind.
Had lunch here today. Shannon our serve was great.
SCALLOPS dish: scallops word delicious but that's about it .... it came with a dry "black rice" which is more like a black seeds of sorts... There was no sauce to connect one with the other... it would better if it was a risotto... there was a coconut sauce but it doesn't really fit there.
NOT WORTH THE Money!
Rasted Brussel sprouts. ... where do I start.. it was DEEP FRIED!!!!!! not roasted... and it had a charred taste. I mentioned to the waitress and he did nothing about it.
It's all about being "fancy", but the food quality doesn't follow that standard. Had dinner there this week.
Expected a nice experience but was sadly disappointed in both the food and the service. We knew the dinners were expensive and were OK with that, but we did not expect the poor quality and extremely small portions we were served. Our server was clueless - did not ask for our drink order, did not bring water, never returned to check on us after our food was served. We had to hunt him down to get our water refilled and order a second drink. The cheddar and broccoli soup ($10) arrived lukewarm (happened to the people at the next table too). I ordered the scallops entree ($36) and received 3 regular-size scallops on a small plate - that was it. My husband had better luck with the mushroom bolognese ($28) which was tasty and which he shared with me so that I would have something to eat. The one really bright spot was the bread - very good rolls served warm. The people at the next table ordered desert but then were told that desert was not available. We did not order desert because we had already spent $130 for a below-average dining experience. For the prices charged, we expected great service and a decent portion of food. We did not get either, so I cannot recommend.
We had dinner here on our first night of stay. We had our dog with us so we sat in the lobby. Server gave a fries as a side on my burger instead of salad but he was quick to replace it. No biggie. Found out later from our waitress that the lodge takes trainees/interns from around the world. We thought it was cool. So that probably explains the slightly not so perfect service from previous reviews. Well anyway we order a burger (18$) and a club house sandwich (18$) and crab rangoon as appetizer. Food is delish but price is very steep for what it is (expected of a luxury hotel) the crab rangoon was really good!
Solstice bar is a solid choice when skiing Stow Mountain Lodge, eating the monster pictured took car of any issues with hunger for a solid 8 hours. The Bartenders are great !
We had appetizers and drinks. I found my cocktail to be delicious, but very "weak" for $15 each.
